Changes in Ecosystem Service Values of Forests in Southwest China’s Karst Regions from 2001–2020

Forests, serving as crucial custodians of our planet’s ecological balance, also constitute a significant source livelihood for humanity. Karst regions, recognized some the world’s most susceptible landscapes, grapple with dual predicaments restoration and resident impoverishment. To bridge gap between environmental economic concerns, this manuscript employs an amalgamation remote sensing socio-economic methodologies to devise comprehensive assessment framework, thereby scrutinizing alterations in forest ecosystems from 2001 2020.The investigation reveals that over past two decades, rehabilitation within study area has yielded commendable outcomes, substantially mitigating various dilemmas instigated by rocky desertification region. The forested increased significantly, ecosystem service value more than doubled. These improvements are largely attributed compulsory conservation measures, demonstrating their decisive influence. advocates meticulous management strategies safeguard these unique ensure sustainability. This research underscores significance striking balance maintaining integrity fostering development, contributing broader discourse on sustainable vulnerable landscapes.
